Subject: Big Signs & Standing Up!

I was sitting with a buddy of mine at the Atlanta game behind Bill in 552
and noticed that when he would stand up with his big sign before third down
he would put it down right before the play started so that those behind could see.
He would also bend forward on those plays where the ones behind him were not
standing up so that they could see.

I thought that showed a lot of class to make noise and get everyone involved but
still think about those around you enough to make sure they can still see.

It is for that reason that I bought a 3rd Down Man t-shirt and will wear it to every game I get to go to and wave my 3rd down fan.

Comments: I have been a loyal PSL owner since the beginning, and have endured some tough times like you and the rest of our loyal clan. I have always been a leader in my section, making as much noise as humanly possible on all defensive plays, especially third down. Therefore, I just wanted to let you know that plenty of noise will continue to come out of section 512 for this special 2004 season we are going to enjoy. August 19 and August 28 will be great warm-ups to get those lungs ready, because come September 13, IT IS GO TIME, BABY!!! Glad to have you on my team, Third Down Man!

I've been a third down man since the beginning and didn't realize it. Now I know.
I park in the lot where you tailgate and plan to come see you before the Eagles game.
Bring extra T shirts. I'll buy a handful to pass to some worthy fans in our section and make them official.

I have been a Third Down Man since day one and now I guess I have offically
made the team. I can remember many games when their was no seat bangin'
during defense. I like to think I helped changed that, considering the bruises
I have that I bring back home to Greensboro with.
Keep it up guys, have seen your stickers for years and the shirts are awesome.
I sport mine every game at halftime now till the end and it surely paid off
against the Jags.
I have worked on my section for years, been in 511 since day one against
the bears in preseason and am not about to stop now. Especially now that
I have a Third Down Man shirt. I take off whatever player jersey I am wearing
that day and replace it at halftime with my third down shirt, just so they
know I really mean business in the second half.

Hi. I just wanted to say how cool that you are such a great fan and if I
still lived in N.C. I would join you. I do my yelling and screaming
whenever I get the chance, for example at the recent Panthers/Packers game.
I was the only Carolina fan in the bowling alley but I was jumping up and
down, hollering and having a great time! The Cheeseheads hated me and if
looks could kill.... Anyways keep up the great work and yell extra loud for

Comments: Just wanted to let you know that this is great. I'm not a PSL owner but I get to about 4 or 5 games a year where ever I can get a seat. I always spread the gospel of the third down no matter what section I'm in. It seems lonely out there sometimes, but it's great to know there's others out there spreading the word.

Comments: My wife is a cheerleader- and as such, I get free seats in 507 where I have spotted TDM's and even out-yelled them on occasion. My brother-in-law sits in 504 (the best section in Ericsson, I bet) and he is also a Third Down Man. He gets as crazy during defense as anyone.

Instead of those cool t-shirts, we just sport our Peppers jerseys.

Comments: i work before the games working parking lots
and have seen your stickers everywhere--this is the greatest idea...
i have always said that Panthers fans are no where near enthused
enough to be at a football game (and our hometown team for that matter).

Comments: I saw your stickers on the sidewalk while walking to a game
and had to know what was the deal with Third Down Man - and now I know.

You're telling us to get off our asses - you're telling us that fan enthusiasm
isn't automatically bestowed simply because we are in the stadium - you're
telling us to let the players know that they're playing for more that a pay check,
they're playing for the cheering fans - the Third Down Man.

Comments: I come to about 4 or 5 games a year, because it is a 7 hr drive one way.
My kids and myself started the wave at the Cardinals game, I am always on my feet

Comments: I was leading the charge in 518 last Sunday vs. Baltimore--
we were really making some noise! People got up and made noise on
third down whenever I told them to--the Baltimore fans in the
next section had nothing on us!
